Smith's Tix is the largest locally operated ticket distributor in Utah with over 35 outlets from Logan to St. George. As the official ticket provider of the University of Utah, Utah Jazz, and Salt Lake Bees, in addition to a majority of music events in the State of Utah, it is one of the most high-profile websites in the Intermountain West region.
What We Did
After years in the public eye untouched, the Smith's Tix brand and website had become stale and old. Their most important business asset, smithstix.com, had fallen behind the pace of technology and wasn't friendly to the mobile ticket buying revolution. They came to us needing to energize the brand and wanting to simplify the way people found and purchased tickets to drive more revenue.
Visual Identity & Brand
A ticket to a concert or sporting event is special, not because of the piece of paper or ticket that grants you entry, but because of the experiential moments that will stay with you forever. Utilizing this idea, we rebranded Smith's Tix to remove the emphasis from physical tickets and instead revolved the brand around the experiences and electric, exciting, moments in time that the service grants individuals.
After conducting user testing and user experience research we designed the new Smith's Tix website to be more user friendly, engaging, and to allow prospective ticket buyers to easily find events. Various methods including increased search functionality and an updated event-centric calendar were included to help users find the events they were looking for faster, driving higher engagement and increasing ticket sales.
Finally, we worked with Smith's Tix to bring their high-distribution, weekly and one-off email program up to date. Creating snippets of information to drive clicks, and responsive email design to ensure conversions on all devices, we redesigned their program within the new branding.
